Screening: Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge // Los Angeles, CA

MPI's Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge (CFC) culminates June 9 when the strongest entries are screened at Harmony Gold Theater to a packed house of industry professionals and judges, including MPI senior vice president Lana Link and The Bragg Brothers (the writers/directors of MPI Original Film Pinball). This year CFC will hand out over $20,000 in cash and prizes including a $5,000 development deal with Shout! Factory.

Screening: 'Pinball' // Vero Beach Film Festival

Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game will screen June 9 at 4:00 p.m. at the Vero Beach Film Festival in Vero Beach, Florida. Pinball stars Mike Faist (Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story), Crystal Reed (Swamp Thing, Teen Wolf), and Dennis Boutsikaris (Better Call Saul, The Bourne Legacy). The film is based on the true story of Roger Sharpe, GQ journalist and real-life pinball wizard, who in 1976 helped overturn New York City’s 35-year ban on pinball. The MPI Original Film Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game will screen in Washington, DC, on June 1, 2023, with a Q&A to follow. The event will begin with a reception and registration at 6:00 p.m. (ET), followed by the screening at 6:30 p.m., and a Q&A with the writing and directing team, Austin Bragg and Meredith Bragg (The Bragg Brothers) at 8:00 p.m. This event is hosted by The Cato Institute in the newly renovated, state‐​of‐​the‐​art F. A. Hayek Auditorium.

Screening: 'Project Home' // Indy Film Fest

The MPI Original feature-length documentary Project Home will screen at the Indy Film Fest on April 23, 2023, at Kan Kan Cinema in Theater 1 at 4:15 p.m.

Project Home follows the innovators at New Story, Icon, and Habitat for Humanity who are developing communities and building houses using 3D printing technology. The film documents the stories of two single working mothers who are able to buy their first homes thanks to this innovative technology. One lives in an impoverished village in Mexico where New Story and Icon are building a community of 3D printed houses, and the other lives in Virginia where Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring her new home. The film shows how community, entrepreneurship, and innovation can transform the housing sector.

The writers and directors, Austin Bragg and Meredith Bragg, will be there to take questions afterward. Two other local films will screen with their filmmakers in attendance to take questions as well. This event is hosted by Arlington Independent Media and the 48 Hour Film Project and will begin at 4:00 p.m.

Screening: 'Infraction' // Boston International Film Festival

The MPI Original narrative short Infraction was selected by the Boston International Film Festival and will screen during Session 8 at AMC Theaters, Boston Common on Saturday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. Inspired by true events, Infraction is a drama that tackles the important topics of over incarceration and prison reform. Terrance Lewis, the subject of the film, served over 21 years in prison on a wrongful murder conviction.
